I'm a chemist by training: my only formal humanities training was a minor in Asian religion. I have worked on various humanities-like projects (such as developing a digital map of a Roman cemetery) over the past few years and enjoyed them. I'm a self taught hack when it comes to most forms of technology.
As far as Žižek (and many other modern humanistic philosophers), one of my heros is Alan Sokol.
I always preferred pinball to Galaga. I had the privilege of playing with the 1993 world pinball champ a few times. Final scores weren't pretty.
